The Marylebone Hotel
As part of its UK launch, hotel group The Doyle Collection appointed Dublin-based Barry and Sheehan Architects to design the interiors of three of its London hotels, including The Marylebone Hotel, The Kensington Hotel, and The Bloomsbury Hotel.
Having launched in February, The Marylebone Hotel is an elegantly renovated hotel located in fashionable Marylebone, known for its stylishly eclectic shopping streets.The Marylebone Hotel weaves together the traditional and the modern from around the world, in true London city hotel fashion. For anyone who appreciates style, faultless service and understated luxury, it is a perfect West End base.
Design details really make the difference, where eye-catching British twists combine with global design brands such as B&B Italia, George Smith Furniture and lamps by Porta Romana.
“We needed a slightly different solution for each of the Doyle properties that we worked on.” Says Denis Looby, from Barry & Sheehan. “The Marylebone Hotel is sharp, contemporary and urban, with a slightly ‘clubby’ basement and ground floor.
As our background is in Architecture, we produce well tailored, well finished interiors where one space flows into the next - they have to be appropriate and correct in every detail.” The Marylebone Hotel’s restaurant and bar, ‘108 Marylebone Lane’ fits in seamlessly with the hotel, and follows the same urban styling.
The Doyle Collection comprises eleven hotels in six cities around the world. These design-led properties will provide chic boltholes for modern day travellers, as well as stylish bars and restaurants for local consumers. The unveiling of the UK collection commenced with the opening of The Marylebone Hotel and The Bristol Hotel in February.
